Kase Johnstun is the Director for the Utah Center for the book and the author of two award-winning novels, Cast Away and Let the Wild Grasses Grow (Torrey House Press 2021 and 2024), along with an award-winning research-based medical memoir Beyond the Grip of Craniosynostosis (McFarland 2015). He is the recipient of the Ogden Mayor’s Award in the Literary Arts, he serves on the board of Label Me Latino Literary Journal, and his work has been published nationally and internationally in trade magazines and literary journals, including but not limited to Southwest Magazine, Creative Nonfiction Magazine, Yahoo Parenting, Today’s Parent, and many others.
