Kathy MacMillan (she/her) is an award-winning writer, nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter, librarian, editor, and signing storyteller. Her debut novel, Sword and Verse, was a Compton Crook Award Finalist. She has published more than two dozen books for children, teens, and adults, and she loves exploring how language connects us, whether that means signing with young children or writing in magical runes. She lives in Baltimore, MD with two cats who have yet to agree to be her familiars, but she still holds out hope.
